DESCRIPTION:Join the HLAI In-House Counsel Committee for the Third Session of our Ascencion al Poder Series: The Path to General Counsel and Beyond. \nThis panel discussion will focus on the career paths available to counsel practicing in-house. We will discuss the road to General Counsel with Pedro De Jesus\, General Counsel at Tampico Beverages. Additonally\, Sonya Ods Som\, Partner at Heidrick & Struggles\, will provide an insight into what companies look for when hiring General Counsel and how to prepare for the interview process. \nWhile the GC path may be the road some in-house counsel take\, switching to a business role is another career path often taken by in-house counsel. Liz Walker\, Director of Enterprise Risk and Global Insurance at Groupon\, and Martin Montes\, Vice President of Large Customer Services at ComEd\, will discuss their experience moving from a legal role to a business role. \nRegistration will begin at 5:30pm and the panel discussion will begin promptly 6pm.
